2021 Topps Finest Flashbacks Baseball aims for some mid ’90s nostalgia. The release taps into 1994 Topps Finest Baseball for its inspiration but with an updated roster of current stars.

The base set has 220 total cards. Designs are based on the handful of layouts found in the original 1994 Finest release on similar chromium stock. The first 200 cards are a mix of veterans and rookies.

Refractors and Gold Refractors are both 1:18 packs, which means there is likely to be one of each in a hobby box. Other parallels include Prism Refractors, Black Refractors, Red Refractors and Superfractors.

The final 20 cards on the checklist are short prints (#200-220). Retired stars are the focus here, many of whom appeared in the original set. These land 1:18 packs, approximately one per hobby box. Parallels match up with the rest of the base set except for a lack of base Refractors.

Autographs

The only other cards in 2021 Topps Finest Flashbacks Baseball are autographs. These come in two designs, Homeplate and Oval.

Homeplate Design Autographs are all veterans. Mike Trout, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Ronald Acuna Jr. and Miguel Cabrera are among those featured. The 24 Oval Design Autographs are a mix of rookies and legends. Derek Jeter, Greg Maddux and Nolan Ryan are some of the greats while Jarred Kelenic, Ke’Bryan Hayes and Alex Kirilloff count among the rookies.

Autographs are not easy to pull. Refractors, the most common type, are 1:320 packs. Aqua, Gold, Orange and Red Refractors are also available as well as Superfractors.
